PM plants tree, reveals seat devoted to Bangabandhu at UN nurseries
Executive Sheik Hasina on Monday established a nectar insect tree and divulged a seat at UN gardens and devoted these to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman on the event of his introduction to the world centennial.
She established the deciduous tree at the North Lawn of the United Nations Headquarters in the first part of the day.
Talking on the event, the Prime Minister said the United Nations had perceived Bangladesh on September 17 after its autonomy. Following getting the acknowledgment, Bangabandhu went to the UN and gave his discourse, which was conveyed in Bangla, here on September 25.
"In this way, today a seat was devoted to his name and a tree was planted in an extremely decent spot here around the same time of September. The tree can get by for over 100 years, which will keep spreading the message of harmony," she said, adding that the seat and tree stand together to embody the upsides of harmony.
Unfamiliar Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Rabab Fatima were, among others, present.
The Prime Minister showed up here on Sunday to go to the 76th meeting of the United Nation General Assembly.
She will go to the initial meeting of the UNGA general discussion on Tuesday and address the overall discussion on September 24.
The PM will join various sideline occasions in the UNHQ and will have chats for certain pioneers from September 20 to 24 during her visit in New York.
